NEERMAN's STORY
In 2007, Dr Sumeet Patil founded NEERMAN to realize his vision of an independent research organization following the best global standards in evaluation and policy research.
Over the last decade, we have grown to be among the country’s most reputed impact evaluation organisations. We are proud that our growth has taken place organically, purely with funded projects and without any foreign or domestic investment or grants. Eighty per cent of our studies and projects are with repeat clients from multilateral and development organizations, large foundations, and world-renowned universities. Today, in the field of causal impact evaluation, we stand second to none.
Starting in the year 2012, NEERMAN added a larger set of services to its programme evaluations portfolio. This was in recognition of the fact that creating evidence of what works wasn’t enough to help transform lives. Our added services are aimed at creating data, evidence and answers at the design and execution stages.
Since 2015, NEERMAN opened up its surveys and data collection services to other research organizations that value quality and timely data. In our formative years, like most research organizations, we had hired general survey firms in India for data collection. Soon, we realized that this outsourced function lacked the involvement of expert researchers and the field-level controls necessary to ensure high-quality data. Therefore, unlike most evaluation and research organizations, we built our own field survey division and allowed this division to grow to its full potential by partnering with other research organizations.
As on today, NEERMAN has three divisions within – Evaluation Division, Monitoring & Evaluation Division and Survey Division. The latter is now a fully owned subsidiary of NEERMAN.
