Responder bias can occur especially when an outcome is measured on basis of verbal response (subjective measurement). Therefore, rigorous impact evaluations rely on objective measurements. We excel in anthropometric, biometric, psychometric and environmental measurements. We have procedures that meet national and international safety norms, we network with NABL accredited labs, we have specially trained enumerators for such data, and all enumerators are standardized for such measurements.
For example, our partnership with UC Berkeley on various health surveys dates back to 2009. We have done several surveys where we have measured: children’s (<5 years) height, weight, arm-circumference, or head circumference. We have done a couple of studies where children’s cognitive development and fine motor skills were tested. We have collected and tested stools using Kato-Katz and PCR testing for Helminths, Protozoa and Bacteria. We have collected and tested hand rinse, water and soil samples. For IFPRI, we have quantified diet and nutrition by enumerating and weighing every morsel respondent ate.
